Aspen's Going to be a Big Sis!

We love Aspen so much and can't imagine our life without missy and in my personal opinion, we are rocking parenthood soo why not add another little bundle of joy?!

So, how about Q&A!

Q: Was this baby planned?
A: We knew we wanted another baby and wanted to get pregnant again in 2018. We also know where babies come from. So in that sense, yes this baby was planned. It wasn't planned in "Oh hey, i'm ovulating, lets get busy". More of just a "whatever happens, happens" plan :).

Q: Why so soon?
A: Baby daddy is a few years older than me (10.5 years to be exact). He wants to retire someday and wants to be done having kids by the time he's 40.

Q: So is this your last kid?
A: Probably, but if this one is as easy as Aspen has been, they could trick us into one more.

Q: Aren't you scared of having two under two?
A: Terrified, when we talked about a second child, we didn't really take into consideration that Aspen wouldn't be out of diapers or out of a crib. And that our daycare bill will double. We will figure it out though.

Q: Why don't you just stay home with your kids, that would eliminate the daycare bill?
A: I think I would enjoy it but it would require MAJOR life-style changes that I'm currently unwilling to make.  We'd have to move, make and stick to  budget, limit our vacations, etc. All doable, that many people do but I have a very good career that I'm not willing to give up yet. I also want to instill in my kids a good work ethic and that you can do anything you put your mind to. I can still be a good mom and work. I give up other things (clean house, working out, hobbies, etc) but right now this is the best thing for our family.

Q: Wait, you and baby daddy aren't married, shouldn't you of gotten married before having baby #2?
A: I don't have a good answer for this. All I can say is things are working for us right now, and we love each other and our kid(s) are currently growing up in a happy home.

Q: Are you going to breastfeed?
A: I hope to! I wasn't able to with Aspen so I exclusively pumped for 7.5monthd. I hope I don't have the same issues with baby #2 but at the end of the day, I truly believe a fed baby is a happy baby.

Q: Do you want a boy or a girl?
A: Most people answer this question with I want a healthy baby. Well duh. So, do I. But I also really want a boy!!

Q: Are you going to find out gender?
A: YES, YES, YES!! i think its really cool when couples choose to wait until the birth of their child but I'm not that patient. In fact, I don't even think I can wait until the sono so I'll be ordering the SneakPeak Gender Test.

Q: How long will you take off work?
A: 12 weeks. We have a lot of exciting things going on at work right now. I struggled going back last time, hopefully it won't be as hard this time!

Q: Are you going to get an epidural?
A: I like the idea of a natural birth, mainly because i hate needles. BUT yeah, I'm going to get an epidural. High five to the women who chose not to but I don't think that it makes me any less of a woman or mom because I get one. I'm still welcoming my baby into the world with sooo much love!

Q: But, recovery is easier if you don't have an epidural..
A: That would be nice, but I've made up my mind. I'm getting an epidural. I'll deal with recovery at the end of October. And I won't be against taking pain meds for that either.

HA so those were all kind of negative questions. I like to be an open book at tackle the controversial topics. We are SOOOO excited. This pregnancy so far has been a lot harder than Aspen's. I've been extremely nauseous and already gained about 8lbs. If I'm not eating, I'm leaning over the toilet. I'm hoping that settles down soon so I can start eating a healthy diet.
